World of Anterra Map: Regions, Towns and the Eye
No map has been published — not by the developer, not by anyone. Here is the short list of places the official material actually names, and why a map page cannot be finished before launch.
Last updated:
There is no published map of Anterra. No developer post, store page or press kit has shown a world map, a region list with boundaries, or a distance between two points. What exists is one named region, four environment types, and screenshots.
That is worth stating plainly, because "map" pages for unreleased games tend to fill the gap with a plausible-looking layout assembled from trailer frames. Those are guesses, and they are wrong in a way that is hard to notice until you are lost.
What is actually named
Source: From the Steam store description and the official announcement feed for appid 2402470. Places named in passing are listed as such, not as confirmed regions. checked 2026-10-27.
| Place or environment | Status | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Mancian Wastelands | Named | The 6 March 2026 explosion post calls it where the volatile mining substance is "generally used for mining" |
| Towns (plural) | Confirmed, unnamed | Store description: "thriving towns" |
| Dungeons (plural) | Confirmed, unnamed | Store description: "monster filled dungeons" |
| Shallow water | Confirmed | 12 March 2026 water post |
| Deep water | Confirmed | Same post |
| Caves | Confirmed, unnamed | 22 January 2026 post: vines and spiderwebs can reveal "entrances to caves" |
| The Eye | Confirmed, central | Store description: "uncover the truth about the Eye" |
What that tells you about the shape of the world
Three structures are confirmed by accumulation rather than by any single statement:
Water is geography, not decoration. The water post says there are resources, creatures and enemies that only appear in or near water, plus fishing and sailing. That means the map has coastlines, lakes or rivers that are worth reaching rather than crossing — and a boat is a traversal system, not a minigame.
Exploration is gated by what you can break or clear. Thorn bushes, vines and spiderwebs can hide paths, containers and cave mouths. Mancian Wastelands has a mining substance that is also useful for "exploration or combat", which suggests at least one obstacle class that only yields to force.
The world is meant to be read, not just crossed. The same January post describes interaction as a design pillar: vases and baskets give loot, thorn bushes hide routes. That is a map you search, not a map you traverse.
Why a map page cannot be finished yet
A usable map needs three things, and none of them exist publicly:
- Region boundaries. The store page says "expansive", which is a mood, not a measurement. No post gives a continent count, a square kilometre figure, or a biome list.
- A coordinate truth. Even the eight store screenshots are unlabelled — no compass, no location card, no minimap with names.
- The interface. Nobody outside the studio knows whether the game ships a minimap, a fog-of-war world map, or nothing at all.
When the game launches, this page becomes the actual map: region-by-region, with what gates each one and what is farmable there. Until then, the honest version is a short list of names and a date.
What to read instead
If you are trying to understand the world rather than plot a route, two pages do more work than a speculative map would. Water in World of Anterra covers the one system that shapes terrain most. Breakables and hidden paths covers how the world hides things from you.
For the timeline that decides when any of this becomes checkable in game, see the release date page.
Is there a World of Anterra map yet?
No. Neither the developer nor any outlet has published a world map, and no official post names more than one region. Maps you find elsewhere are reconstructions from footage.
How big is the world?
Not published. The store description calls it "expansive", which is the only official characterisation. No area, region count or playtime-per-region figure exists.
What is the Mancian Wastelands?
A region named in the 6 March 2026 post about explosions, described as a place where a volatile substance is generally used for mining. It is the only named location in the official material.
Are there fast travel points?
Not announced. No post mentions fast travel, waypoints or a mount system, so treat any claim about them as speculation until launch.
